Privacy

KeepLocal collects as little as a website can. This page describes what that means in practice, as the site works today. If a later feature changes any of it, this page changes with it.

What the site does not do

What stays on your device

Your reading comfort setting is kept in your browser’s own storage and never sent to the server.

The contact form

When you send the contact form, the message and whatever you chose to fill in, a name and an email address are both optional, become one email to the operator of this site. The site keeps no copy: it is not stored in a database, not written to a log, and never shown on a public page. The email is used to answer you and to correct the site, and for nothing else. If you give no email address, no reply is possible.

Rate limiting

To keep automated abuse of the form in check, the server counts submissions per network address in its memory for at most one hour. That address is not written anywhere and is forgotten when the hour has passed.

Server logs

The web server keeps ordinary access logs for a short time to run the site. They are not analysed for anything about individual visitors.

Who is responsible

Dick Tump, the operator named on the about page. Questions about this page go through the contact form.
